About Àrokò Cooperative

Àrokò Cooperative is a worker-owned design studio and publishing house, using design to divest from systems of harm—and build toward collective liberation.

We understand design as a living, relational practice—rooted in ancestral knowledge and transformed through collective action. We do not design in isolation. Our work is circular, intergenerational, and grounded in ecocentric ways of being. That means not just imagining better worlds—but building them. Through systems, objects, stories, and tools that seed equity, uphold dignity, and restore harmony with Earth and all of her inhabitants.

Since 2020, Àrokò has cultivated a living archive of liberatory design—from mutual aid campaigns and toolkits to art, education, frameworks for collective well-being, and a cooperative model that redistributes power. At the heart of our work is a commitment to communal prosperity—creating conditions where creativity, care, and justice can take root.

We are building a design future where:

  • Design regenerates ecosystems and relationships

  • Ancestral and local knowledge guides decision-making

  • Care is embedded in every stage of creation
